Eventbase is a world-leading app provider to create a better experience at a variety of events, such as conferences and music festivals.
As a UI/UX designer, my job is to take the wireframe of the app and theme it to customize it to each client's branding. Below are some examples of the many apps I've worked on.
Synapse - Gradshow 2015
Synapse was the graduation exhibition for the 2015 grad class of VIU's Graphic Design department. As head of the grad committee, I was in charge of creating and implementing a brand to represent the entire class.
A synapse is the junction between two nerve cells that passes information across the cells. As graphic designers, a synapse is a metaphor for our creative process. To the grad class, a synapse represents each designer's unique approach to converting a design challenge into an effective solution.
The logo represents 21 sections of the brain, each one representing a member of the class.
Wolf Brewing Co.
Wolf brewing co is an island-based brewery. The goal was to make a brand that spoke of the raw energy that conveys the energy of Vancouver Island, but still retain a sense of friendliness to welcome the viewer. The beer's intended audience was people willing to spend more money for an authentic local craft beer.

Eventbase - Game Badges Redesig
Eventbase commissioned a redesign for their game badges. The new badges had to be more fun and engaging, encouraging the player to want to seek out more and in turn get more use out of the app.
Flight - Meeting Minutes App
Flight is a web app that solves the problem of disorganized meetings minutes.
By taking the concept of lengthy, convoluted meeting minutes and breaking them down in to easily digestable chunks, minutes can become easier to write, navigate and present.
This concept came 2nd place at the Procurify Hackathon of 2016.
Cogitai, an AI tech company, required a landing-page graphic to showcase their AI self-learning software, which is explained in this brief infographic. The style uses single-stroke lines and solid blue colours to keep within the Cogitai brand, producing a nice clean presentation.
JWM Financial - Branding
A financial company situated on Vancouver Island, JWM specializes in marketing towards younger families that need help in making their assets flourish,
The brand needed to speak friendliness and prosperity, but also had to remain professional and somewhat corporate.
The final solution was to have the roots of the tree flourishing to life, representing the foundation of financial advising that grows in to wealth.

Paddle Board Co. - Branding
Upstanding Paddle Board co. is a Nanaimo-based paddle board company, specializing in rentals and lessons.
The brand needed to represent a fun, youthful company that visually represented the paddle board, because the company wanted to represent what the company did without always needing the logotype attached to the image.
The logotype is readable but still has enough of a personality to convey the youthful energy that the company represents.
Assorted labels that I've developed for the Longwood Brewery, a renowned Craft Brewery on Vancouver Island. This particular series was focused on small-batch brewing, calling back to the prohibition era.
A small handful of posters I've done for misc events.
Portal Magazine 2015
Portal Magazine is an annual art and literature magazine produced in Nanaimo, BC.
As the Graphic Designer I was tasked with conceiving a fresh layout for the entire 2015 issue and handling all 75 pages of the publication, ensuring that each page followed the newly established brand while also keeping the content interesting, all while adhering to the strict deadlines that come with a publication.
